The New Dynamic
As I'm sure many of you are aware, the TV and video sections will be branching off of AudioKarma onto the new Videokarma.org :)

I've been an old radio and TV guy all of my life, and it was my interest in that direction that spawned those forums here on AK. After talking with Grumpy for a while and collaborating, he decided to branch off that portion of AK in that bold new direction.

The old Captain that you know and love (or hate :drool: ;) ), namely me :D , will be over there as an administrator, returning to the chair once again....pursuing my love of vintage televisions and radios (I have a '51 Motorola TV that I'm working on now), as well as expanded forums dedicated to vintage and modern gaming, arcade and pinball, and much much more! And best yet, the return of FREE classifieds for all the subjects above!

It's going to be like the old days....once more :)

My Atari 2600 is ready to go, I have a Predicta that's waiting for me, and soon an old arcade game that I traded for will be in the living room. I gotta be me, you know :D

Dave will be making the official announcement here when the site goes live. Oh, and all members here are automatically members there, so no reregistration is required.....hope to see you there!

Thanks for helping us undertake this project. Your work on Videokarma is much appreciated by all of us !

To all our TV members,

The new site www.videokarma.org is a work in progress. We have transfered everyones memberships over there and all of the TV threads as of a few weeks ago. As Kam has mentioned if you are a member here then you are a member of the new site. Same screen names and same passwords.
The only difference you may see is the addition of some new forums and the lose of some of the posts that occurred here on Audiokarma in the last 3-4 weeks. We cannot transfer those over but please feel free to copy your posts from AK to over there.

What we are going to do is archive all of the TV forums here on Audiokarma for a while until everyone finds the new sites home.

We hope that everyone enjoys the new site and its relaxed atmosphere. Thanks and see you over there.

Am I the only one who thinks the split is not a great idea?

The only significant result so far is the loss (apparently permanent)
of most or all contributions to those 'visual media' forums after
August 15 or so. And who in the world would classify antique radios
in 'VISUAL MEDIA'?

Makes me fell like walking away from both forums and never looking back!
Sorry I have to say so, but that's the way I feel.

I think Grumpy and company read my mind.
I bookmark "new posts" but lately they have become too big .
Since my main interest is Audio --I thought sometime ago to "split" the forum,because there are some forums that I don't read that much.
This is a genuis move and it will make us better.

I am sorry but anyone who registered to Audiokarma on or after Aug 13th will need to re register on Videokarma.
 
I can agree -The antique radio forum needs to be put back on the audio side of the house. It is no way connected to video.

Well, I agree (with myself...) but let's not make things more complicated
by demanding further changes. The whole block of TV and radio forums
was plucked from audiokarma to form a new entity, something that was
fairly easy to accomplish, let's live with that for a while. I will remain
a member of both audiokarma and videokarma, you will probably never
see me logged on one and not the other, and I encourage everyone
with interests in both sites to do the same. Regards to all.
 
be careful on how you type the address. I accidently did .com insead of .org and its some big time NSFW material.
 
I check out AK a few times a day. I just click on New Posts and just read what hits my fancy at the time. I am not a "video guy" at all but found many of the posts there interesting. I going to miss my "one stop shopping".
 
www.videokarma.org has been fuctional for the past 36 hours with no time that I am aware of.

By the way www.videokarma.net will also take you to the new site. As some of you may have found out,
whatever you do not enter VK.com unless you like porn.

My bookmarked link to videokarma.org (and all variations thereof) and the similar link on the AK page returns a 404 error.

The .net version is functional though.
