Well I've found another pair of LE14A's and I'm thinking of building another set of Ewaves...
I notice the DE250's are on sale at PE right now but looking back through the posts it looks like they might not be usable low enough to mate with the 900hz crossover for the LE14A. Is this the case are have any of you used these two together successfully?

The original speakers were sold with plugs for the ports so they could be used sealed or ported. If you keep the original woofers try it both ways before deciding what works best.
First you have to find out if the original woofer will work for ewave. It will have to have decent output up to 1600 hz. Since the original speaker had a cone midrange and a complex 4-way crossover it's unlikely that the woofer was used that high by Marantz. Probably the only way to find out is to test it.
Or decide to change to a woofer that will work in that cabinet and is known to perform well with the ewave top end.
Depends on which model they are, and how big of an enclosure you can use.
Some of those RS drivers have very high Qts factors... which makes them suitable only for very large boxes... given the low efficiency (88dB) and smallish magnet (17.8 oz) of this woofer , I'd suspect this is one of those cases...

High Qts could also be good for Open Baffle. That might be interesting. obWave.


Well I finally got around to finishing my Cerwin Vega Re 30 E waves

It all fit really nice, the crossover screwed right on the back terminal where the old one was. It still has the fuse too:yes:

The L pad fits perfect in the hole where the tweeter was, and the grills still fit

These work as advertised, I just got these done and Im already planning a bigger better version
