Bought it in the late '70s, while stationed in the Philippines. Any of the audio cognoscenti know of a good place in the SF bay area to have it restored/updated? Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hi jib3ho, welcome to AudioKarma. There are places in the Bay Area that can handle it but off hand none come to mind. I'm sure one of the locals will chime in with a recomendation.

Where in the Bay Area are you? If you are willing to go to San Jose, there is Sertech Electronics who do a decent job.

You could try The Sound Well in Berkeley.

They just moved and may not repair as much as they did at the old place, but it's worth a shot.
