Of course. That was just my sick mind throwing out the first thing that came to mind.

But in all seriousness, I think it would really showcase how this project is spouning long term and repeatable interest.

Tomorrow morning I'll get a phone call asking if I can ewave a pair of Heresies. I'd bet on it. I have a pair of Heresy II's here and there's enough baffle space for the PH612. I so relish the thought of taking a saw to the baffles of a pair of those...
Hey Ross, everyone at the SMAC meeting said "HI". I had Heresy IIs for 12 or so years and can tell you, from my long experience, the woof does not go high enough, OR, OR, OR, low enough to work as a good eWave candidate. However, the cab is a good cab for a better woof and eWave top end. Maybe a JBL LE 14.

Nobody's unbiased. One reason we measure.

Anyway, thought it was a shootout.

With respect to how they sound, they both use the same diaphragm, but from the specs, D2500Ti-Nd is lower distortion. Unless D220Ti has a shorting ring, the Nd magnet material might account for that.

In any case, I'll have to set up a direct A/B comparison before concluding anything with respect to their sonic qualities....
I've been preusing manufacturer's data sheets linked to the PE product listings and was wondering if anyone had tried the B&C DE180? A little cheaper than the (on sale) DE250, similar specs but not as efficient. Was comparing them to the Selenium D220Ti and noticed that the B&C response curves are plotted on log paper while the Selenium was not. Makes the Selenium look much smoother on paper. An AK seach for DE180 came back blank. Still have a pair of restored Santana II cabs set up with removable front baffles looking for a purpose in life. If they get e-waved they would be my fifth set...

Hey Rosso, the Santanas would make great eWaves. I have been thinking, in my drunken state, the difference between the D2500Ti and the D220Ti. Maybe one is made to project a lot of sound out to a large room and the other does not project as much sound, but what it does project sounds better. For our use, we don't need something that can fill an auditorium, just a living room. So maybe the D2500Ti might work better for our needs.

Opps, edit. I thought the D2500Ti-Nd was a less expensive driver. Clearly not the case.

Only about $60.00 more for a pair

Worth it IMHO

I believe Brandon is using DE160 in his No Quarters. I haven't checked the specs on any of the B&C alternatives to DE250....
