Are the crossover upgrades on the Minimus 7 really worth doing? What is the result? And I saw a woofer upgrade too and was wondering what the good folks here thought.

Yes, it is worth doing. I don't know about the other ebay crossover mods. And I don't know about the woofer upgrades. For what this speaker is - a small near field speaker - the woofer in it does great. It's not going to go low, but with the xover mod above it will play nicely with the tweeter and give good sound. If you want low with m7's then use a subwoofer.

I performed the mod on my 80s Minimus 7s. Definitely worth doing.

When we got an LCD TV for the bedroom, I made the minimus 7s serve as the main speakers in conjunction with a home made sub. It became obvious that the little speakers were not up to the caliber of the sub. Watching the Phantom of the Opera, was somewhat unlistenable in stock mode. That prompted me to start checking to see what I could do to improve the situation. Then I chanced upon this forum, saw the work that was proposed and then the published results and that had me hooked.

It transforms them totally. They must be used with a sub and a good one won't be lost with them.

If you own a pair and can perform the mods, then definitely proceed.
