Update on PL-41 Group Purchase
I've got prices from several local machine shops and a couple of online ones. With one exception, they all wanted $10-12 apiece as these bearing pads have to be individually machined from Delrin rod stock. My best price by far is from a local machine shop with a quote of $6 apiece for 12, or $4.50 for 20. I tentatively ordered 12 today for pickup Monday at lunch. I'm thinking of extending it to $20 as the total price only goes up $18 and the unit price will drop by $1.50.
I disassembled my spindle bearing (extremely easy, just popping the TT base off (after removing headshell, mat and platter) and unscrewing the spindle bearing cap. It takes all of two minutes from the time you disconnect your TT from your amp. Mine had the busted up plastic thrust pad (see attached picture) along with one thin metal disk under it. They measured 0.083 and 0.017 respectively, for a total of exactly 0.100" in thickness.
Accordingly, I'm having the shop machine the disks to a 0.10" inch thickness and will be leaving out the additional metal disk (although you could leave it in if you wanted and adjust VTA to the extend necessary). I've read in the link I provided earlier that if you put the metal disk under the Delrin thrust pad (in an oil bath), that the thrust pad spins (it shouldn't). Apparently Delrin slicker than whatever cheap plastic was used for the pad in 1969.

Please let me know if you want more than the listed number and I'll pick up twenty instead of twelve. Whatever cost I pick them up for will be passed on to you gents, along with $1 for sales tax (the shop's, not mine) and postage combined.
Anybody else reading this, contact me via PM if you're interested in a thrust bearing pad for your PL-41 (or PL-50) or any other TT than needs a 7/8" OD X .10 thickness Delrin thrust pad.
