FISHER CONSOLES, A PICTORIAL....WHERE's YOURS????..........

Marketing Drawings and Magazine pics are nice, but sometimes a LARGE recent photo of an item is a plus when looking for information on a FISHER CONSOLE, especially for someone who is new to owning one, and or has never seen one before. Plus we have console pictures spread out on AK from Hell to Eternity. Here's a chance to get all the FISHER consoles in one place.

THIS THREAD IS NOT LIMITED to TUBES. IT IS limited to FISHERS ONLY. TUBE (Mono and Stereo), HYBRID, and SOLID STATE are part of the Heritage of FISHER, so lets see them all. Units that have been frankenstein'ed are ok as long as the new parts are FISHER. For example my 1961 Coronet Console cabinet didn't come with an amp or Tuner, so I installed my 400 receiver in it. The cabinet hasn't been changed. The main criteria is the lack of modification to the cabinet.

As a possible VISUAL AID for those who don't know FISHER CONSOLES, or about the site that Red has had up over the years, and JON's FISHER CONSOLES Site, We should be as accurate as possible in the descriptions of our gear. Descriptions should follow the same basic format.

YEAR AND MODEL NAME (ie: 1965 FUTURA VI)
MODEL # and FINISH (F-590W Contemporary Walnut)
CHASSIS (59-A, 59-T)
Turntable (Elac Miracord 10F)

Please limit pictures to Max of 3. Would like to see If you have them.

Here's mine. All 4 are working, have been rehabbed to one extent or another, with the FUTURA being totally restored this past summer.

NOTE that the Coronet has been modified internally. The cabinet has not however been modified and as such is OK for identification of that model cabinet.

I purchased the cabinet with Turntable, speakers, without the SA-16 and 101-T tuner/preamp. My 400 resides in the spot for the Tuner. Everything else is original.

Elduce - Great looking 60 Console!

Here are some photos of my Series 61M console. My chassis is labeled "Chassis 61".

By the way, would it be possible to take a close up photo of the hinge that holds the cover/lid. Mine is missing and I want to try to find a similar replacement.

OK, I'll play...

I only have a pair non-functional at the moment, they are both in process...

Pic #1 = 1961 Model 880 ??? Executive, 4000-R Tuner, X-202 Amplifier and Garrad Type A Record changer for now. The R2R was removed prior to my ownership.
Pic #2 = 1964 Model 960 Executive, 800C Receiver, Garrard Type A Record Changer and Ampex 1250 R2R...

The 500C on top is in use because the 800C is about to be sent off to NOS Valves for a refurb. The PL-41 is in use until I install a Dual 1219 in place of the stock Garrard changer (which will for kept for posterity).

need advice - what did I buy?

Found this at a junk store..love the the mid century styling, was thrilled to find it was a radio and turntable.
Radio says the fisher. Model R3 195Watts. No markings on the cabinet.
Works like a dream, in fabulous condition.
Turntable is Garrard.

Your console with the TA-600 is my favorite console I've ever seen. I am a sucker for early brass faced Fisher gear and love the design of the wood on that console. I have a near mint TA-600 on the way from another AK'er and cannot wait to get a nice new wooden case for it.

(You beat me to it Jon! It takes me a long time to compose a post.)

I just had a conversation with Jonboy55 - whose website you contacted - about your absolutely astonishingly beautiful Fisher console. We are both very impressed. With an R-3 chassis it probably dates to somewhere 1953-1956. It is the Fisher Coronet model in the Allegro cabinet. Short of Fisher's top-of-the-line Custom 60, the Coronet was about as good as you could get back then.

The record changer appears to be a Garrard type A which was not the original but very much in keeping with Fisher's high standards. It is much more vinyl-friendly than whatever changer originally came with it. Later Fisher consoles used that exact model - it dates approximately 1961-1963.

Wow, thanks! I have zero knowledge of vintage audio stuff so it is great to learn a little about my piece.will help me justify my purchase to my husband!!!
I just know that the minute I saw it , my heart started racing and my palms became sweaty and I HAD to have it no matter what.
I will post some pics of the insides tomorrow.
I have to agree that the console is beautiful, the black lacquer finish had me at hello!!!
