Take a Sony ES class CD player and disguise it as a DVD player and you have the DVP-S7000. This mod takes an already very good sounding disc player and adds in modern Op-amps, high-grade Nichicon caps and a few other tweaks along the way. I don't know if this would be equivalent to the work that mod companies do, but it's a heckofa lot cheaper and sounds simply awesome.
The audio board is removeable! Remove six screws and five wire plugs and it's out. How cool is that :thmbsp:
I basically replaced all the caps with Nichicon KZ's & FG's. The Op-amps were replaced with National Semiconductor LM4562's. The power cord was replaced and a better grade plug was used.
I'll dig around and find some more pics I took and post them later. Here's a pic of the last mod I did. Can anyone figure out what it is?
