We're in Columbus, OH. We support the speakers from the former holders of the JansZen mark, yes. And yes, usually it is small, inexpensive parts in the the bias supplies that fail -- diodes and resistors -- and more rarely the electrolytic crossover caps, and there might be some sonic benefit to replacing those with film caps even when okay.

We have a price sheet we can email you, but if you can solder and do some basic diagnostics, you can do your own repairs. If you'd rather just solder, you can send the supplies without the speakers and save on shipping. Obviously, I should post the price sheet and also schematics and DIY instructions to our web site . . . but it is usually worth running through a bit or pre-diagnosis on the phone.

If one or more panels has failed, which is pretty unusual, the repair is not DIY, and success can range from lucky to impossible, since the panels were assembled with adhesive and rivets.

The ERC139 was developed as a 20 way system when we evaluated them and suggested a Philips midrange be added; there was a midrange hole, the depth of the Grand Canyon on the pair we reviewed. The company did more development to fill in the midrange with the 2-way but announced they were developing the 3-way.

The company only started delivering the 2-way systems when it closed and before it announced the 3-way was in production so I wonder if the blogger has a set of engineering samples or pre-production units.

Regardless, he has a VERY unique system as it was Art's last design and the tweeter was far different than his previous models plus so few made. I hope he continues to love them and maintains them as a guardian of a piece of history.

Thanks for the information. I'm even more enlightened. Yes it's interesting that they have that modification. After reading your comments I tend to lean to an actual Janszen mod rather than something in recent times. It isn't likely that it's an at home mod when
I'm sure 2 way design sounded great.
