Received this week: The Who By Numbers, UK first pressing, Polydor vinyl made in Holland, NM. Who's Next, original West Coast first pressing, Decca, VG+. Who's Next, original UK Track first pressing, NM.

The Steve Hoffman site has been a valuable tool when researching matrix numbers in search of original first pressings.

This is it....US 1997 1st pressing, vinyl NM sleeve EX. bought it from ebay...um....bid with 5 seconds left to go....heart was racing....got it for a steal...Sounds incredible!! :banana:

Yeah, I guess that'll do. :D I'd probably buy some Foo Fighters, if I found them local at a good price. I don't pay TOO much for any music, I guess I'm kinda spoiled in that sense. ;)
 
Hey, what time is it, there in the twilight zone? It's 11:34 PM here, which means I'm yawning & getting kinda brain-dead. I'd imagine you're just about ready for lunch, give or take an hour or 2 or 3. :scratch2:

Right now its 9.04pm....I just noticed your from Seatlle. The home of grunge...There has been and still is some great bands coming out of there.:yes:

Those do tend to sell for a fair amount of money. I wonder how the new pressings sound compared to the original? I would love to have an original but will most likely go for the repress.

jUST KEEP AN EYE OUT ON EBAY. I guess arepress would be ok but I am cursed with having to buy original, and sometimes it pays off to keep looking, I think I have been looking for 6 months and have ony seen about 4 or 5 max originals for sale on ebay, just be patient :D

I understand the want of an original. I have seen them on ebay occasionally. As much as I like the Foo's this is one of those that I would be happy with a repress if it were a good one knowing the era this came out and how records were pressed at that point.....not to mention the cost of an original.

and I would just like to add that although I only buy my records online and through auction sites, I will only buy if I am geting it for a great price otherwise I wait til another comes along, so they are usually very good 'finds' for me, as you guys 'find' good scores in shops...:yes:

I love the Foo's too and even though this might come across as blasphamy(?) I buy originals also as investments, being that they should be worth more, in the future, I have sold off some great originals with proffit made of course, only when in dire need, when in desperate times ha ha.:D and sadly often don't play them out of fear of being scratched with kids in the house :sigh: so maybe I should also buy me some repress too for playing??
 
Picked up an original Skyliner's LP from the late '50's today for about a 10th of it's collector value. Not in the best of shape but should still play ok. Original yellow and blue label and not the later all blue reissue. Those in the know will realize just how rare this LP is. Classic '50's Doo-wop, Baby!!!
 
Some nice finds yesterday. Sleeves could be better but the vinyl is excellent.
