Thinking of getting into my G-5700

Just finished full restore on another 9900z, the big brother to the one you are working on ----
caveats ---

Use 105c caps on the power supply board and digital supply board, they do get toasty.

Use AK to cross reference the regulator transistors and upgrade them to modern higher current handling types

That driver board going to need a full wash down and carefull inspection of every solder point before you get into fixing all the hayhem from previous repair

I would toss those original pots and replace with bournes, when they go open the amp grenades big time

Check the value of the resistors between the pre driver transistors and the output transistors, they are known to drift high and aggravate the circuit

btw when done this series of 'Sui sounds great and still flys under the radar collector wise, have fun

Brian: The SM for the 5700/6700/7700 is well marked to tell you which model they are talking about on each paragraph/page. I just printed it out and "X'd" out the parts that pertain to the 5700 or the 7700.

I have a comprehensive list of the components on the F-2980 board for the G-6700 if you want to take a look at that.
