Weekly Estate and Garage sale finds (pics)

Score!

Found this beauty today at a flea market, $55.

Two bulbs were out (I had some laying around from a previous marantz tuner), and the knobs were crackling a bit, but after a good cleaning, it's singing!!!

Picked up some Polk SDA 1-b's for 250.

Not really a score, but about as close as I get around here. Thread is in dollars and sense.

14" long with 1/4" thick blades.

Jigata Nata, gardening cleaver... Split wood, debark, prune trees, that sort of deal. Only sharp on one side to prune up close to the branch/trunk. Nice find, those are generally fairly expensive and that pair look quite nice.

Looks like I have to fly to Belgium. I've been looking for a decent Marantz at Garage Sale prices for years. All I find is astronomically priced units that are beat to death. If I found that unit here, the dude would have it marked for $5,055.00 with a sign, "Highly Collectible"

Anyway, CONGRATS! Enjoy. I sure would.

Zenith Trans Oceanic D7000Y radio, plus a pocket size Micronta multimeter.

$10

Awesome, Monty. Nice find. I'm not sure if it was that exact model, but my Father (RIP) had one. Loved it. When he wasn't listening to Jazz on his HIFI, he was listening to that Trans-Oceanic.

Good score.

Thanks! It is cleaning up nicely and works fine. I realized when I got it to the house it didn't have a power cord, which is a rather unusual one. Fortunately it was only half a block back and I found it.

The radio had been sitting closed and upside down and at first I thought it was a Super 8 projector, or an 8 Track or something. I flipped it over and tried to conceal my excitement as the lady said, "What is that?." I said "a radio...$10?" and she said "sure."

When I got it home Linda said "what did you buy this time?" I brought up eBay completed listings showing sales up to $150 to $250 and she seemed a bit happier. :D

ELP - debut

Today's nice haul.

Some need minor work some need a rebuild some good as is.
#1 SAE P102 good as is works great

#2 Sansui 661 needs a good cleaning other wise nice

#3 Sansui 6060 all lights out needs a good cleaning and deoxit

#4 Sony STR 7055 Very clean unit, but has distortion in right side as soon as it warms up. Seems to be in the pre-amp section.

#5 Yamaha YP-450 Speed is off about 1 rpm. Looks like motor pulley has been
polished, perhaps too much.

#6 Sansui 9090 Have not even tested. This is a candidate for full rebuild.
Also no case with it.

All in all not bad for $90. The 9090 looks like a nice winter project.
