Marshall Crenshaw - Some Day, Some Way takes me to 16 with my shiny new driver's license and MTV on all day long (they played music back then)
Autograph - Turn Up the Radio puts me in my friend's Monte Carlo with the ubiquitous Pioneer TSX-20s on the back deck cruising town wearing checkered Vans and wayfarers
Peter Gabriel - In Your Eyes puts me at my wedding reception
The Old Rugged Cross puts me at my grandfather's funeral. I was named for him and it's really weird to walk into a funeral home and see your name on the sign.
Queen - Another One Bites the Dust is on the bus in 7th grade because there was a special ed kid who was allowed to have the run of the tape deck and he loved that song.
ZZ Top - LaGrange and Tush are being blasted on a boombox from the back of the (team) bus on the way to football games
Ah, I need to go put some music on!

Oddly enough, it isn't any specific artist/band, but rather the odd song here and there. One of those cases where you hear a song that takes you to a place and time in the past, and you don't really know who the performer is or even like the song...:yes:

Y'all gonna think this is wacky, but that 1958 song "Chanson D'Amour" by Art & Dotty Todd reminds me of riding around w/my parents when a wee sprout...Daddy would take us a couple of times in the summer on business trips w/him, I loved it. I got to go to Louisville, Winston-Salem, Richmond, Canajoharie, New York, New York City, Greensboro, all sorts of places that other kids could only dream of...
Music can reach out and grab you. My list is way too long would rather address this fact that music can have this effect to transport your thoughts back to another time and place. I wold venture these songs that have this effect become part of the songtrack of your life.
