Early W70's are my go-to speakers to use with my Eico AF4 SEP
I picked up a pair of W60D's yesterday at an estate sale. A little moisture damage on the bottom of one and both need surrounds. Look forward to hearing these.
I'm surprised the surrounds on those were even bad (Cloth ones, right?). Usually they don't need more than to be re-glued or softened (or did the moths get to them?).
Wharfedales who has them who loves them and why? I have W60D's and W70D's all OG and i love their sound. They are super forgiving and mellow but can crank when needed. Pics are in easy listening thread.
A set of Rosedales I have completely rebuilt. Great sounding speakers with a lot of character. Will never get rid of these. I listen to a lot of jazz and these never fail to impress.
I've actually been wondering about this. I know the Rosedale name was used for the European version of the W70D, but did they use the Rosedale name for any OTHER W70 versions?
Whatever they were they are no more. I don't have them here now but I'll get a couple of pictures tomorrow.
Not W70D but W70E (3-way, 15" woofer), introduced circa 1969-1970.
