For an alternative site I would be happy to host a get together. As it turns out, my wife will be away the weekend of the 23rd so Saturday would be perfect. Oregon is about 100 due west of downtown Chicago and 30 minutes SW of Rockford. Equipment wise I have an Onix SP-3 tube amp, Yamaha CR-2020 reciever, Adcom 555II amp and pre and a Sansui AU-517,TU-717 combo. Speakers include my Dahlquist DQ-10s, Klipsch Cornwalls and KG4s, JBL L96 and 112s, Dynaco A-25s among others. I also have a HT setup, ( 5 channel audio capable), with Polk Monitor 12 and 10s. I lack a quality CDP and turntable however. So if any of this is of interest I'm game. I would provide food if you guys bring drinks. We have plenty of room to spread out. Anyway just another option to consider.

8th works great for me. 1st would be tough because I have to be in St. Louis at 7:30 am on the 2nd.

But I'm in!

Edit: the first two dates work as well.

As far as I'm concerned it doesn't have to be the 23rd. The weather might be better in March anyway.

As no one so far has nixed Saturday March 8th as a date, and since it is the farthest out, let's set March 8th as the date (unless any one has major objections).

1 PM worked well last year but that can be confirmed as the date approaches.

Last year we had about 10-11 attendees although more had expressed interest in attending.

As for "program/theme" here is a suggestion that provides some variety:

I understand Fisherdude has a big collection of tube amps. If he's willing, I'd love to hear his favorite.

Powerman is the local JBL expert. If he's able to, perhaps he can bring something manageable (tough if you've seen his collection but my van is available).

Lastly, if he can come, maybe RayW can bring a pair of speakers of his own design.

I'm in, no calendar conflicts....

Your place was great last year... If we go to cubdog's. I'll investigate meeting somebody and share/ride along....

But I did make it out to Powerman's ok. :D

Thank you for the invitation, March 8th is good for me too. I'm willing to drive but I own a 2+2 and the back seat is tight. My gear is modest but I'm willing to lug my crown jewel (Accuphase P-300) if anyone is interested in hearing it. Thanks again, Rich
 
count me in also rob, i had a great time last year and was waiting to hear when the next would be , either/ both dates work for me .

Hello all. You don't know me but I'm in Chicago and might be able to come. I have a lot of gear but not sure if much of it is very unique. I just bought an Eico integrated tube amp that I wouldn't mind hearing with some efficient speakers. My girlfriend's into audio, too, so that would be kind of a curiosity...a girl into vintage audio. If I don't make it, have fun and good luck!

Your place is closer for me. I would definitely suggest posting a thread in General Audio with a link to this one. More folks would see it.
 
I will be there on the 8th. Maybe we can meet Cubdog in Oregon, IL sometime this summer and check out his fine gear. This party should be at your place (Robie) in Northbrook for a better turn-out. Just my two cents.

Barring weather or any unforeseen circumstances, count me in for the 8th. :pawprint: I'd enjoy an Oregon gathering more in Spring or Summer when I could cruise out on the ol' Norton.

BTW, is this a BYOA, BYOS, or BYOB party?

If that comes to pass I'd like to ride out with you on my new Honda VTX-1300! BTW I'd love to see that Norton.
 
Oregon would ensure I cannot attend.

As much as id like to a flight and 100 mile drive are not in the cards. Plus I need more then a few weeks notice so as not to get reamed by the airlines.

I am in and I prefer the Chicago / Glenview location.

What do I need to bring? Food...gear??

I could bring a couple of Sansui integrateds that are not being used much right now: AU-9900 and AU-717. Also I have a 771 and 881 receivers (the 771 has been restored and the 881 is in process, they will both be auctioned when completed)...if anyone is interested in hearing them.

Lemme know!

BTW...I would love to hear someone's tube gear if that is possible.
