Hi All

I have been doing my homework before I start on a total rehab of my SX-1250. The document I have put together is a cut and pasted collection of AK posts and comments that I felt were important to me in my project to come. I have my SX-1280 dialed in enough that it can wait for rehab and replace the 1250 in my den for the time being. I am putting together a similar document for the SX-1280, but it is on hold for now.

This item is a work in progress and anyone with additions please post to this thread for me to update the document. I must offer great thanks to both Echowars and Markthefixer, as theirs are the great majority of posts pasted in here. If either of you feel that there are other points to be made to create a fuller document, please jump right in. You both already do so much that, in a way, I hope my little effort to create a "one stop" document will take a bit of weight off your shoulders and save you fingers from "George Jetson Fingers" having to repeat the same comments over and over. You can simply point at this document to assist others. I don't know if I will be successful with this effort but I have always wanted to contribute something back to AK and its members, for all the service you have provided for me.

I'm also attaching the original recap list, which I believe was a compilation of AK member bisonguy, though I am not positive of that. Many thanks to whomever was the author.

My Title is posted in such a way that anyone searching AK for this type of document should get a hit. I hope this effort is successful and helpful. Please feel free to add or comment to build on the project's viability.

I fixed a few quotes with my most up to date parts information from 1250's I have done, I had hoped you would catch them, but you were too quick.

It's mostly minor stuff - caps and diodes, since you caught / fixed the driver stuff (don't use mje's use ksa/ksc transistors).

and I put it in your thread!!! yesterday:

Thanks for the update Mark. I'll update it in the document in a couple of hours. My problem with updating the recap list to a parts and recap list will be determining which of your parts recommendations are in which board. Some are listed with the board # but the others I will suss out with the foil pictures and parts lists when I can. It will be good for me because I will be very familiar with everything by the time I start on the actual project. Thanks.
 
The online .doc file has been updated with Mark's latest corrections. Keep up the changes and suggestions.

I am presently working on an all-in-one full parts list for the SX 1250 that will include a BOM list for Mouser. I will be taking Bisonguy's parts list and putting it in the format that Markthefixer uses. Hopefully this will become the one stop shop for those that are doing the recap/rehab job on their 1250s. Mark, if you read this, I am going to post a rough draft of this list doing the work that you usually do with lists as far as organizing. Would you consider doing your translations to modern parts from the old designations, cea, ceanl, etc.? Also, Mark, Echowars, and other gurus, there may be additional parts that you may consider essential for a typical rebuild. If you would please post them here so I can include them in the master list.

Echowars, I already have the link for the filter caps in my document which will make it into this list that I am working on, but there was a replacement for the tantalum caps, that you made and I can not seem to find the reference to them. Would you please update me on those? I would be appreciative.

This will most likely take me a few weeks to accomplish due to work and a carport that I am building on my new property, which is taking up any free time I have.

For future reference, I plan on creating a thread for the SX 1280 that will mirror this one. I hope it will be read and used more than this one has. As Markthefixer knows with great certainty, creating lists and doing the reference work takes a great deal of time, but I think, in the long run, these efforts will be worth the time spent. AK has given so much for me, I want to give some back. Thanks to all. Please post any relevant info here please.
 
Markthefixer's rule of thumb for parts repalcement. Very important!!

KingBubba, Very nice what you are doing here . Thank You Wish i could help on a good place to make this permanent but i havent any ideas . I havent started buying parts yet for 1250 but hope to soon . Looks like most or all of the parts are all from Mouser ?
 
Thanks for visiting my thread harleyrider. It gets lonely here. My plan is to work up a BOM order list for Mouser's Fast Order section. You can cut and paste huge lists of items and they do all the work for you in pulling up you order. It is a great system because all you do is copy the list from AK and paste it at Mouser and Poof! you are done. The filter caps that are recommended by Echowars are from Newark; so that would be a separate order. From what I have heard, those big caps may end up being unavailable soon.

In the document there is already a BOM list made by Markthefixer. This list is for the power supply and regulator only. I hope to fill in the blanks for the rest of the receiver when I get time to do so.

BTW, NealinNevada has made his website available to host my .doc. He has turned it into a .pdf. I will change the link very soon on the post #1. Thanks to all that join us here. I will try to dig up the time to finish the parts list as soon as possible.

I have a list to help you get going with the 1280. For some reason, I thought I had already posted it. It has been awhile since I did my 1280 so I hope everything is still relevant but at least its a start point. I also have lists for the Spec 1, Spec 2, TX-9500 II and CT-F1000 but I need to review them before posting.
I have been slowly restoring the system I want to use for my prime one. It is now the Spec 1 and 2 with the TX-9500 II, CT-F1000, RT-909, SG-9800 and two HPM-100s. I still have my SX-1250 and SX-1280 that I restored but I can't bear to part with them along with numerous other Pioneer components. I think therapy might help.

Does Mouser have the (4) large caps you mentioned ? I have all 4 boards out of the 1250 and would like to get started replacing all the necessary parts including the big 4 .
 
Sorry just went back and read again, The 4 big caps are from Newark ? Is there a minimum order at Newark ? Looking for EWs thread about these for the part #s no luck yet .

There is no minimum order from Newark. I just bought 4 of these a few weeks ago. The part number is 36DA223F100CD2A and the Newark part number is 95F4479. They are made by Chemi-con
Their description is as follows:
Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor; Capacitor Dielectric Type:Aluminum Electrolytic; Capacitance:22000µF; Capacitance Tolerance:+50, -10%; Voltage Rating:100V; Height:117mm; Diameter:63.5mm; Capacitor Case Style:Screw; No. of Pins:2
 
Just registerded with Newark and ordered my 4 ( 95F4479)s . Looks like they dont have to many left ? Only 41 available before my purchase. Now i just need to get the rest, my 3rd post back is that the correct list to order copy/paste to mouser ? If so ill go ahead and get that stuff ordered as well . thanks
 
The reference to Echowars' parts is in the downloadable .pdf document in the first post. His and many other comments of import are in there. I ordered my Chem-Con caps today. I wonder what will end up being the replacement when these are gone. There are 36 left after my order.
