The OPs speakers were a few years earlier than the KLH-1 which was closer in time to the 1982 RS-1b.
I've heard it mentioned Infinity was test running drivers in those speakers produced by "KLH Research" etal.

got Infinity written all over it...
RS 1b written all over those woofies.
I'll bet they were test running those before they went into the Reference Standard 1a/b, control module and all.

Well I pulled the drivers today to spray the control dials with deoxit, and 3 of the 4 do match the wiring diagram as expected. One of the midranges is weak and I think it needs to be refoamed, but I suppose that's another handy skill I should learn.
The hodgepodge tweeters don't sound bad to me, but I will be hunting for something closer to the originals.
