CENTRAL TEXAS 9/1/12 Blue Moon MusicFest

House de Kris

Loud-n-Deep
Start time is around 7:00PM, Saturday 9/1/12.

August has its second full moon technically on the 31st. But, that's a Friday, so we'll celebrate it a day later in September. The moon rises around 8:20 that night, should be beautiful. In keeping with the blue moon theme, the genre of Blues comes to mind. To me, that's closely related to Jazz, and Jazz includes Acid Jazz or Future Jazz. Any genre is fine to bring, but if it were up to me, I might play anything from Canned Heat to Fruitloop. Bring music to share with others, or just bring yourself. Go to "Ranch de Kris" in Facebook and check the Notes section for details on formats. Or, post here or PM me with any questions.

--If you need directions to RdK, PM me and I'll give you detailed directions.
--Gates open at 6:30PM.
--End time is when ever we decide to pack it in.
--Water and a few other beverages provided by RdK, bring anything else you want.
--Use Parking Lot 'C' as it is closest to the music.
----(check the map in the photos section of the RdK Facebook page).
--Be sure to bring a flashlight (and some music), your favorite lawn chair, too.
--It cools at night, dress appropriately.

This event will be canceled IF it rains. Check back on the Ranch de Kris Facebook page or this thread before you leave for latest updates.

I have exciting news for this upcoming event, it has moved to a new larger field. Ranch de Kris is now in Phase 1.3 with the move from BUC (Bunny Union Corral) to the Dream Dominion. I just finished building new temporary speaker platforms, and moved all the furniture to the new location. I spent the evening in the Dream Dominion, listening to the new setup last night. VERY nice, I must say. There are no longer trees blocking the view of the full moon, and the moon rises right between the speakers. It was bright in that field last night. Clouds came in at midnight, and made for some beautiful images being back lit by the full moon.

We've had two rain showers today, so I will update this thread (and the Facebook page) at around 3PM Saturday in case this event needs to be canceled. Let's hope that is NOT the case!
