Cool Nudell era Infinity relic

It's a paperweight given as gifts to Infinity dealers celebrating the 20th anniversary of Infinity in 1988 (Kappa era!). I procured this from a former Infinity representative by eBay. Looks like it's dusty in the images but they're actually mostly little imperfections and scratches. (Unforgiving macro photography.) Not sure what it's made from. It's metal and appears to be plated and not particularly durable.

Too bad Infinity's next twenty years quickly became an Arnie-less abyss.

I've invited the former Infinity representative to join us here in the AK Infinity group. I expect he has an insider's perspective of Infinity in the 1980s and maybe some great stories to tell.

So you're the dirty bast, errrr, bird that outbid me.
Well, I was hoping at least it was AK member.

A few hours later I got outbid (actually the bidding went crazy in the last minute so I never hit the submit button) for a pair of the clear 12" RS series woofers.

I didn't sense a lot of interest in it based on views.
I was surprised there ended up being three of us bidding on it.
Cool piece of Infinity history, nice to know it has a good new home.

For the Infinity geek, google
INFINITY ETCHED GLASS SIGN W/BLACK OAK BASE
That's another piece in my "collection"*.
I'm sure they are repops but they are nicely done and come up for sale on ebay occasionally.
Note: the darker the background the better the etching shows.

I have one of these and pretty nice quality. I bought it when I bought my 8.1s. It's not a official infinity piece but looks really nice. This guys on the bay and can does other stereo manufacturers.

I put a couple small pieces of blu-tack like material in the channel the glass slides into.
Keeps the glass from moving around or falling out.

Might be a good time if any Infinity geeks are looking for one of these.;)

They are nice, well packaged too, at least the one I got was.
As mentioned, a dab or two of blu-tack or similar in the base channel helps keep the glass from sliding around.

You can contact the seller to request a logo he doesn't currently have on ebay. I'm seriously thinking of going for a Thorens, ARC, Infinity trifecta :)

I was lucky enough to also pick up one of those paperweights a few years ago, but my prized piece is the window sign.
