e-Cigarettes - Stop Smoking!

got some vape porn for you guys....

word of warning ...... DO NOT upgrade to any of these new fangled "subtanks " unless you're willing to give/throw away all of your old clearos ( evod, protank, etc)

the flavor out of these is genuinely that much better....see my review here http://sabor-vapors.myshopify.com/collections/clearomizers-and-tanks/products/kanger-subtank

im running a 1.2 coil in each one at 20 watts with low nic high VG juice
(currently carmel chocolate in one and strawberry/watermelon in the other)

nicotine is at 25% of what I USED to use....

dripper is a Freakshow RDA that I got for FREE from a friend of mine who came to the conclusion that dripping is a pain in the ass

I'm more about the flavor than anything so I have a single coil 26ga kanthal build in it spec-ing out to 1.3 ohms...again at about 20 watts...
as you can see I have it sitting over the airflow for maximum flavor (I also have the airflow control set so that that is the only hole open)
while you CAN run a dual coil in these I found that it went thru juice and battery like they were going out of style

I sit everything on top of my kanger Kbox which in my opinion is a STELLAR little device...(see my review of it here http://sabor-vapors.myshopify.com/collections/variable-mods/products/kanger-kbox-40-watt-mod)

sabor vapors is my local brick and mortar.....if you have a decent shop near you PLEASE try to support them when you can

ok enough of my jibber-jabbering....I know you guys are here for the pictures...

Funny you mentioned the Subtank, as I just picked up a Mini this past Saturday. Sunday, I found myself ordering some wire and Japanese organic cotton to roll my own coils :D. The flavor from this thing is spectacular, really good with my iStick 30W

Yup... Both of mine are the kanger "mini" version as well.... They're great little tanks aren't they?
I haven't tried the rebuildable deck yet but I've heard good things about it....

My kbox tops out at 40 watts so I have little interest in "sub-ohm" and when I bought these my shop swapped out the 0.5 coils for another 1.2 for me...

In any event, I'm running the factory 1.2 and am pretty pleased with them...

Eventually I'll probably use the rebuild deck since I like messing with stuff but I'm sure I'll be in the 1-1.5 ohm range....

There was a 0.6 dual coil in my freakshow when I was first given it and I had to run it at like 30 watts which sucked up juice and battery life at an amazing rate...

I'm thinking that my next "gear" purchase might be one of the "coil-master" kits...

My local just got the version 2 in and they're REALLY nice...

How do you like your iStick?
I looked at the 50w version when I bought the kbox but I didn't care for the "non-replacable" battery...

I drive truck for a living and it's nice to just be able to keep a spare charged battery or 2 in my "work" bag

I'm sort of looking at the vaporshark RDNA and the Hana modz but don't really want to spend the money... Although the prices are less than I had spent on death sticks in 3 weeks

Interesting read in this thread. I've been a smoker for 50 years. I don't like the fact that I wake up each morning hacking my lungs out. Getting ready for that first morning smoke.
I am pretty confused by all the jargon associated with e-cigs/vape. I guess my next step is to visit some of the local vape shops in town. There are like 4 of them.
I know I can get one of those cheap ones at the store for like 10 bucks but I see from some of the pictures that those are probably over a hundred dollars. Which is okay with me if it does help me. I mean a carton of sigs are over $30.00 and they are gone within a week.
My girlfriend which quit cold turkey about 2 years ago really wants me to stop. And she's right.
Well sorry for the rambling here. I'm off hopefully today to visit some of the vape shops. :scratch2:

And nobody will be interrupting that smoke break at work :D !

Do it!....

I smoked for 35 years and can't believe how good I feel now..
I've had a couple "slips" but haven't had a cigarette in over a year and the last one I had tasted like shit...

I wouldn't recommend the "throwaway" ones at the gas station...
Unless you just want to try it for a day or so to see what you think....

I'd recommend stopping by one of your local shops and sample some juice (if they won't let you sample I personally wouldn't give them my business)

Pick up a bottle or 2 of something you enjoy the taste of and a basic starter kit (the evod /ego kits are a great starter setup)

I wish you would have said something a week or so ago....
I just gave away a pile of stuff that would have given you a nice starter setup..

Yeah... Some of the gear can get a little pricey but it's not NECESSARY...
Like any other hobby /vice there's different levels...

I was spending $80 a week on cigarettes (camel non-filters) so I don't mind buying some cool "toys" now and then (I'm an admitted "gear junkie" tho)

You can do it!
Make sure you post back in this thread with your progress

Great thread! Thought I'd share my story.

I tried one of the early E-cigs that was meant to mimic an analog (vaping speak for plain ol' cigarette) and really never found it satisfying. I later read a study which showed these style of e-cigs hardly give you any nicotine compared to a normal cig. Needless to say it didn't work out for me.

Fast forward a few years to now, a new vape shop opened down the street from me. They were very helpful and started me out on 11 watt iTaste vv mod (vaping speak for battery) and a Kanger tank. I soon upgraded to a better tank and more powerful (30 watt) mod. Even the new TOPL tank still didn't do it for me in terms of flavor and it was also finicky and prone to leaking.

This brings me to my current rig which I really wish I had started with. It's a 60 watt regulated box mod (IPV2x) and a doge RDA (rebuild-able dripping atomizer). I feel I have finally reached vaping nirvana and feel this can be a real substitute for analogs! Awesome flavor, no flooding or dry hits, satisfying nicotine delivery and really fun HUGE clouds!

For those not familiar with dripping there's so much good info online I won't elaborate here but HIGHLY encourage checking it out ESPECIALLY if you tend to be a tinkerer (like just about everyone here:D). In a nutshell though, you wrap your own coils and wick them yourself. There is no tank so you have to drip a little e-juice every 5-15 puffs which I thought would be annoying but I actually quite like it. It's kind of like rolling a cig or packing a pipe and is a nice routine. It also allows you to switch flavors at will without cleaning out your tank. It's also WAY easier than you might think. Don't be intimidated!

Don't mind the mostly neglected pack of spirits in the background:nono:

That's a good rig you run there :beerchug:
The YiHi chips in IPVs & SX mini are stable & reliable.
I'd love to get a Boxer mod. Same chip as the SX mini M but dual 18650s.

What I find amusing is that a lot of teenagers who haven't even smoked real cigarettes in the first place are now buying and smoking 'em (a new fashion accessory just to look cool).

Also, the amount of small independent EC shops that have opened up around here selling 'em is amazin' (must be tons of profit to be made). Heck, even Cash Converters pawn shops are selling kits new.

I saw my next door neighbours 19 year daughter with one in her mouth. I said... I never realised you smoked and were tryin' to give up... She replied,I've never smoked real cigarettes but everyone has got 'em :D

Personally,I'd pass... Would never trust any of that chinese crap in my mouth/body. I'll stick with good ole nicotine :smoke:

I smoked my last cigarette on March 26, 1015 after 25 years of smoking. Just wasn't enjoying it anymore and the aftertaste finally became horrible after just one. Back in the earlier days it would've taken a whole pack in one sitting to have the same effect. I had been smoking 1 - 2 packs per day.

I knew that there was no way I could quit cold turkey so I picked up an e cigarette kit and use #18 nicotine juice (out of 24). While not nearly quite as satisfying as the real thing, the benefits by far outweigh the alternative.

Firstly, coughing (which had become prolonged periods of hacking) ceased almost immediately. Headaches which had occurred fairly regularly (1 - 2 per month) have ceased entirely. Chest pains/heaviness has stopped and clearer complexion. This is all in addition to feeling generally healthier.

All this, not to mention no more stink of stale smoke and its effects on clothing and one's personal environment and the cost, perhaps < 10% of that spent on cigarettes and lighters, not to mention the savings on healthcare insurance premiums.

Ideally, no use of cigarettes - genuine or electronic - is best however, e cigarettes are by far the lesser of two evils and I heartily recommend it for anyone hoping to wean themselves off tobacco.

E-cigs still have nicotine (if you want it). Just no tar or the 1000's of other chemicals in analog cigs. It's very easy to find artisanal american made e-juice from companies that are very transparent about what's in them. I would be WAY more worried about what Phillip Morris puts in their product.

Looks like all the 'junk' my brother has. Spend's more time than it's worth trying to keep everything running. Man up and just quit, unless your just trying to look :smoke:

Your brother made more of a hobby out of it than most.

Kind of comparing a table top radio to a big hi fi rig: For many, the table top radio of an e cigarette will do.

Not a troll. Just have a hard time understanding what the 'modern' world will come up with next.

****in troll.

The title of this thread is "e-Cigarettes - Stop Smoking!", yet 99% of the posts I've read have nothing to do with quitting - just trading one for the other.

The folks who push this stuff are no different that the companies that said tar and nicotine couldn't hurt you. Even worse - THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW!!

Here in CA, they're already banning e-cigs is some public places.

I quit after smoking 40+ years. I did it cold-turkey - in a hospital bed after heart surgery. Been over 10 years now. Not fun. But I did it.

So if saying "man up and quit" makes me a troll too, so be it.

**** it. Keyboard warriors butting into threads to stir shit. Have fun. unsubscribed.

My niece, nephew and my youngest son never smoked. Then came along the e-cig.:smoke:: I'll never get it. I was a tobacco chewer for 35+ years. Constant heartburn made me quit, cold turkey. Haven't had heartburn since, 7 years ago. I never chewed in front of my wife. un subscribed

Man, I don't even know where to start...

1. Technically vaping is not smoking. I don't know what's so hard to understand about the title of the thread.

2. Who are these "folks" that push this stuff you are referring to? Also we DO know what's in them and it's all stuff you probably eat every day too.

3. Here in Chicago e-cigs are banned where smoking is and I feel that's a reasonable compromise. I have no idea how what individual states are doing has anything to do with this discussion either way though.

4. I'm sorry this technology was not around when you decided to quit. But your bitter anecdote adds nothing of value either. Good story bro, should people give up antibiotics because your great grandfather didn't have them?

5. Yes, saying "man up and quit" does make you a troll because nobody asked for your thread crapping advice.
