JBL L65, $1400+ w/5 days left

those are a very fine example of a somewhat diserable speaker. The price is getting up there but I doubt these need a "shill bid" to get there.

I am also not so sure about the sales climate out there right know for speaks. seems to me the value of k-horns dipped bout a year ago and have since climbed right back up

The 077 tweets are one of the most sought after drivers for JBL aficionados and can bring some long dollars. The 5" mid-range and 12" woofer are good but more common. Overall, they are very good speakers but these are approaching L220 and L250 money.:dunno:

Superb condition and with the boxes, lots of good pics. I would never pay that much for Jubals, but "collectors" do. Just having the boxes raises the price up on any gear.

Jubals in reasonable condition seem like they've been going in the $800-$1000+ range in the last year or so. All the current BIN's are over that, but that's why they're still for sale. Just the pair of tweeters go over $500. As previously mentioned, these are in stunning condition, w/ boxes and original packing, manuals and extras. I'll certainly watch these to see if they go significantly higher.

I grew up listening to L65's. Dad has good taste. Now I'm just not-so-patiently-waiting for him to pass them on to me. They'll stay with me until one of my kids is ready for the real deal.

Just thinking, my L150a's are virtually new, I have the boxes, grills still have the hang tags, foams all professionally done, one woofer had to be re-coned which was done by Orange County Speaker with JBL parts.............:scratch2:

Yes...you can easily list those for $2000 !! :thmbsp: :D

Somebody just payed WAY too much for those speakers. All I know is when I had them, sonically they just didn't do that much for me. They were okay... But IMO you could do a lot better with a $1000.00 much less $2000.00.

I think these were bought more for their collect-ability than for their sonic?

Wow! Not surprising considering the early run up.

Considering those L-65's went for $2K, I should have no problem getting more for a better speaker in better condition. I just don't know what I would replace them with. I really love the sound and the synergy of my current system.:music: I guess if a mint pair of XPL200's showed up, that would be tempting.:scratch2:
