Hello from Athens, Greece
My name is Kyriakos and I represent the Audiophile Club of Athens (ACA). We have just finished creating our new site that you can find at www.aca.gr! It would be an honor if you would register in our forum and participate in the English Category. Check also the fellow Audiophile Societies page we have created: http://www.aca.gr/index/resources/fellowSocieties

Best Regards to all of you :music:

And Welcome, yourself, to AK ! Its nice t'have ya, & any of your English-speaking members would be more than welcome, here, as well !

Thanks for your warm welcome. I would like to inform you that all the members of the Audiophile club of Athens are English speaking and many of them are AK members already.

Kyriakos,

Welcome to AK. I haven't been to the Athens website for some time, but it looks very nice now.

By the way, the Rockport Sirius III TT on the turntable gallery page (second picture) is the wrong one. The picture is from Mike Lavigne's listening room and the Rockport is the table in the background of that picture with the tangential tracking arm. At one time Mike had 3 TTs in the room, but all have been replaced with a new TT.

He should have stayed with the Rockport.

He should have stayed with the Rockport.

The Rockport is certainly no slouch. I believe that while there's no more that a dozen in existance, but they are superb.

However, Mike has replaced it with the new Wave Kenetics NVS turntable. This last Summer we had our Club Meeting at his place and got to listen to it. At that time Mike had Talea 1 and 2 tonearms mounted, both fitted with Ortofon A90 moving coil cartridges.

I'd say it sounded very nice, and many thought it was better than the Rockport, but without a chance to do a direct A/B comparison, I'd be reluctant to go quite that far.

Best Regards,
TerryO
