Fine Tuning CR 420 Receiver

Can someone explain for me what adjustments can be made in this unit and how to make the adjustments.

I have seen references to things like trim and FM reception [maybe the same thing?], and am wondering how much I can improve the operation of this unit by going inside. I have a standard VOM, screwdrivers, and a lot of patience.
