Dug Up Some Old TT's Today: Opinions?

Between my storage unit and our rehearsal studio, this is what I found today:

1) Pioneer PL-510A, Shure M104E

2) Technics SL-D2, Shure R47XT/5X

3) Pioneer PL-7, Stanton RS5000J DJ

4) Dual 1254, Original Dual Stylus

Any of these worth resurrecting?

Thanks,

bob

Some nice mid market decks there. Nothing out of this world but respectable.

The Dual, Pioneer PL510 and Technics D2 in that order. Don't bother with the Pioneer PL7.

This is a PL7 that I wouldn't turn down:

If it's the 80s DD PL7 with the carbon graphite arm then I reckon it's the best of the lot. Really really lovely arms and a breeze to set up. Tracks anything.

My first turntable was a Pioneer PL-7 along with the Pioneer A-7 integrated amp. The carbon fibre arm with a B&O MC cartridge really did track well. It could handle the 1812 Tchaikovsky record with the cannons without skipping a beat.

Thanks, Guys

What about the cart/ dj stylus on the PL-7? And yes, it must be the 80's version.

The PL-510A is a decent deck. I run one with a DL-110 and it sounds nice.

Fully manual and very susceptible to sound transmission through the base. Placement is important but I enjoy it.

I'd chuck it. I run an At 150 mlx on mine, it's excellent.

Maybe grab the best of the shures and put it on of you need to use one of the old ones
