PRESS RELEASE: Bring your lawn chairs! Phil Dych has announced that Mark Beach has accepted an invitation to provide a free tutorial on loudspeaker motor design and modeling at The Mason Winter Swap Meet at 10:00 AM on Saturday, 16 March 2013 WEATHER PERMITTING!
Location: 5166 Parkside Drive, Mason, OH 45040. Mr. Beach is the CEO of DYNE Analytics LLC, an international supplier of engineering design tools to loudspeaker manufacturers as well as supplying OEM drivers. Mr. Beach is also sits on the Board of Directors of the Association of Loudspeaker Manufacturers and Acoustics (ALMA International) and co-chairs ALMA’s annual Winter Symposium at Las Vegas during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
The tutorial will explain basic loudspeaker motor design through an interactive video display. Motor geometry, causes of distortion, and methods of reducing distortion will be explained and demonstrated. Mr. Beach will field attendees’ questions regarding loudspeaker motors and any other aspect of loudspeaker design of interest. The tutorial will be approximately 30 minutes followed by a Q&A session. An afternoon tutorial may be given; potential attendees should contact Phil Dych (pdych@cinci.rr.com) and indicate whether they would like to attend a morning or afternoon session.
Don't forget- This is an informal audio swap meet! Excellent chance to swap/buy/sell vintage or other audio gear and meet like-minded people who love audio! Think of it as a warm up to the AK Fest! This is an OUTDOOR event, electricity supplied...again, weather permitting!
