cr-640 only outputs in mono

Hey there guys,
So I gave my friend my cr-640. By the time I got it across town and hooked it up it only played in mono and I had used just fine about 2 months prior.
Any ideas? Any help appreciated. Thanks guys

Do you mean that only one channel plays, or that both left and right channels play but they sound exactly the same?

i mean i only get sound when the speakers are plugged into - A left channel - and - B right channel - and the stereo is switched to mono.

i'll check the connections when i get home. thanks

Yup, DeoxIT the stereo/mono switch, tape monitor switches, source selector, etc.

When you switch it to stereo, does it play out of just one speaker? But both when you switch to mono? If so, that probably means that it's not a bad amp chip.
