I have a rx-v2095 now and picked up a rx-v2400 cheap but locally there is a guy selling an old Sony ES TA-N9000ES 5 channel amp and I am thinking about getting it and going with a seperate setup.

just wondering if I am going to get any real benefit. I am not really into the home theatre thing as much as I listen to just music.

I do like the old sony stuff. the guy wants $175 for the ES

The older RX-V receivers are pretty musical, in my experience. Separates can be great, naturally, but for convenience, receivers are hard to beat.

That said, the 2095 might have 5.1 analog outputs which you could run to the Sony. Yamaha preamp and Sony amplification... hmm. :scratch2:

I picked up the Sony and I am running the 2095 as preamp. I feel the sony sounded better but I didnt do back to back. When I bridged the SOny to run in stereo it was mucher stronger. im still testing it out.

the rx-v2400 will arrive today or tomorrow
