best car of 80's votes

80's Caminos are cool and becoming collectible.

GN's and GNX's are way cool but have you seen the money they bring. :sigh:

Even the T-type regals are kinda pricey nowadays.

I love El Camino's and Grand National's too so I combined the two :)

Here's a video of how she runs.

1980 Ford Fiesta. Never left us stranded, got almost 40mpg at times and you could fit a 23" console TV in the back. Also a snap to work on.

Aw yes the Ford Fiesta. My parents bought a lime green 1980 Fiesta with these corny multi colored tan stripes on the side with only a driver's mirror, a 4spd manual & it sported 13" wheels & tires. The car was a total blast! I think we got rid of it in 1985. They are super scarce now! If you find one the owner usually has 2 or 3 of them laying around.

The Fiesta was a blast to drive. Ran really good for what it was and amazingly agile. Had it for about 11 years and put 196,000 miles on it. The Michelin XZX tires that came with it even being driven hard lasted for 80,000 miles. 2 sets got me to 160,000 then I bought some Coopers man did they suck. Most every owner I've talked to loved them and I did too. The perfect example of less is more.

I've actually secretly wanted another 78-80 Fiesta for myself since having that car as a child. Had lots of fun in it. 80mph in that car felt much faster lol I saw a super clean white one years ago on the highway and got all excited.

1989 Lincoln Mark VII LSC ...Lear Siegler bucket seats, 5.0 H.0. , factory JBL sound system air ride suspension ....I miss that car

The original 1983 Volkswagon Rabbit (Golf) GTI. Mine was white with blue interior. No way I wanted that eye-searing red interior.

I upgraded the tires to the hot setup of the era: Goodyear NCT's from Germany and installed a Blaupunkt stereo with Visonik David 5202 speakers in the doors and 2 6.5" subs mounted on the storage cover.

It was stolen out of the driveway of my in-law's place in New Jersey.

Just choosing one car as best of the 80s is not easy. Besides the M3, I would add the M6, M1, and 535is, and that is just from BMW.

Was always intrigued by the Pontiac Fiero (sp) but only with the v8 northstar conversion!

The Fiero was originally to be a comuter car. But the sporty look with disappointing performance turned off a lot of folk. By the time Pontiac beefed up the engine, with sales lagging, they killed it. Sad. :sigh:

Tough to beat the original and iconic German super-car. This one resides in my garage so I have to acknowledge a little bias.

Nothing like a little (or lot) of air cooled goodness.
