Trouble with new AS-500

Go Gamecocks!
Hello everyone!

I have a dilemma that I need some help with. I have a 2 week old AS-500 amplifier and it sounds fantastic BUT it consistently is causing my right speaker to blow fuses.

This only happens at loud volume levels (knob just past 12 o'clock and on pure direct mode) but I have never had any trouble with fuses blowing on the left channel at all.

Do you guys think I got a defective unit or is there any other suggestions you may have?

Have you tried swapping the speakers around yet. What are your speakers impedance ? 4 Ω ?

The A-S500 will start distorting over 12 o'clock like any amp. Sounds like a mismatch that comes into play as things start clipping. You have swapped you speakers around to see if the same side blows?

Don't forget, the A-S500 has a switchable impedance selector. Be sure that your selector is set for the impedance for your speakers.

SC - did you fix it? I have one of these on the way, curious to find out what the issue is/was.
