1st post! : magnavox micromatic model#1ST621R

Hey folks,

During my move from D.C. to Mandeville, Louisiana the movers broke the tuner arm on my magnavox micromatic model#1ST621R.

(My wife found the cabinet on the side of the road while on a run one morning and called me b/c she thought i would want it. Needless to say, yes i wanted it and have been listening to it just fine for the last 2 years. )

I found a micromatic imperial on ebay and now have it in my possession. however, when i received it, it had no needle. I've since purchase the needle, and it should arrive this Saturday.

so... I was hoping y'all could help me with some questions:
1- does anyone know anything about this model? #1ST621R. age, and specs, etc?
2- can i just drop in the micromatic imperial to replace the regular micromatic that was the original turntable?
3- what is the best was to clean a cartridge, the one i have is filthy!

Yes, the Imperial will be a direct drop in fit on that era console. And that was their better changer then.
