I was chasing a high-bias current problem in a TK-40SW when I saw that some of the emitter resistors in the pre-driver had been bypassed with wires soldered to the back of the board. :scratch2:
These wires look "original" and use the same fabric insulation that's used elsewhere in the amp. Beats me why any repair guy would have installed them, so that leads me to wonder if they were factory installed ??
Anyone else see this on their Kennies ( TK-40 , 40u, 40l etc ) ?
Re27 and Re13 in the schematic were bypassed. I anyway removed the bypass while replacing all the carbon composition resistors and the amp seems to works fine.
