Just picked up a Pioneer SX-1000TW, I'm impressed!

I picked this up yesterday at a local thrift for $60. Had to clean and deoxit, and replace all of the bayonet bulbs, and the stereo light is toast, but boy does she swing now! I'm only listening on phones, but very powerful and warm, lots of base. I need to get an old lamp cord or something to do the plug speaker jack hack. I assume this baby will handle 6 ohm speakers, am I wrong?

They do rock.

She is rated 4-16ohm for single set of speakers.
For two sets, the speakers need to be 8-16 ohm.

Loved mine since the first listen!! Just found a mint set of circa 1969 CS 53 pioneer two way bass reflex speakers for $20 and will mate them up when time allows. Good catch btw

Hook it up to a pair of KLH Seventeens, amazing combo. Very warm sounding and powerful receiver, especially for it's time.

For right now, as soon as I do the speaker wire hack, I'm going to pair them with a pair of EV FR12-2s in my basement system. I just love the looks of this receiver also.
