My "Basic" Kenwood Set-up

Changed up my main listening area since getting the Polk 10B's.
I am using a Kenwood Basic M1D amp/C2 pre-amp to drive them and even have a T1 tuner just to make it a matched set.

My College Days

Here is a pic of my two Kenwood pieces taken inside my dorm room at ASU back in 1977 or 78.

Couple of pics of an L-01T tuner that I formerly owned. I paid $500 for it; it had about that much in upgrades- e.g. 31 new caps. Sold it for $1000.

I know there are those who would question the wisdom of selling such a rare piece, but with a fully modded Sansui TU-717, a Marantz 20b, Sony ST-A6B, Denon TU-850 I still have WAY more nice tuners than I can ever use. And tuners are just one of my many interests..

The Kenwood sounded fantastic, but frankly the design left something to be desired. Mine seemed slightly different than some others I've seen in pictures and the labeling for the buttons was nearly impossible to read. I know this is a very rare tuner, and I was sorry to see it go, but I needed to free up the cash.

Anyway, I thought I'd share the pics, which are not very good since the reflective front made it very hard to photograph.

Since '79? Wow. It's nice to see great components still in the family. Looks like they were well cared for too.
