This lovely mid century piece features (according to the seller) belt drive and and a die-cast platter. Why does it look to me like a 70's low end idler drive with a stamped steel platter? I guess I just don't know a mid century masterpiece when I see it.

Mid-ish? Garrard went from idlers to belts in the mid 70s, I believe. I just picked up a time capsule ZERO 100 for $30. Haven't even played it yet.

That arm looks kind of crappy compared to the ZERO 100.

Thats a 74M, according to the sticker. Not one of their better models, but probably not the worst.

Why do people think you can ask three times the real value if you call something "mid century"? It's a decent table with SL95 mechanism, small platter and a crappy arm.
