JBL 4435's in Charlotte

This is what I sent him, "Hello- Can you clarify for me what the asking price is please? It seems to say $12,000.00 (twelve thousand dollars) is that correct?

Thank you-

His reply was, " Yes, find another pair anywhere, not happening.

I didn't think my inquiry was something that would have sparked a reply such as his. I guess a road trip isn't going to happen.

If they had been $1200 like I thought maybe just maybe they were...I have a friend in S.C. who would be picking them up right now. I'd say $2000 with issues, even some serious issues would be reasonable. $3000.00 in very nice condition would be fair and I wouldn't count out even more. I wouldn't sell mine today for $3000 and one is a clone.

I've never seen a pair sell for more than $4k - 5k in last 10 years or so.
Let the reality break in slowly for him and move on.

I sent him a email to see if twelve thousand dollars was his actual asking price. He sent me a nasty note back confirming that it was. Maybe it's just me but I'm thinking $12,000 might be just a tad high. What do you think?

Sounds like he's priced WAY too high ...
he seems to think he's KenRick sound with their immaculately restored monitors and hand delivered service ...

Sell them at $12K? Not happening.

Ok- that falls into the strange category for me. He is in N.C. but posts an ad in Honolulu for a pair of speakers that are way over priced. Who would do that? Now maybe if he posted an ad in Japan it would make more sense or some oil rich Middle East country.

It's probably an ill-conceived attempt at luring Japanese buyers.
