First of all, as I've written before, AK has for several years been of great assistance through the various forums. My thanks to all.
I began restoring vintage audio gear a few years ago after a serious back condition forced me onto Disability income, which isn't much. I found that I greatly enjoyed the act of restoring a vintage speaker, receiver and occasional turntable. Hard to find good gear in this area but what I have been able to find I mostly sold locally or on eBay (with reluctance). Accomplishing something important to me also helps ease my Post Traumatic Stress Disorder--that I spent a lifetime of hard work acquiring. (Note sense of humor tends toward the M.A.S.H. Hawkeye model)
For 20 years my Son and I were on our own (Mom left when he was 7). Now, he is beginning to pursue an opportunity in the gaming industry/podcasts/etc. and to do so he moved to PA. w/ his mom. So, having a hard time adjusting but comments from several AK members about my work have been a great help. Again, Thanks.
Living now in Lynchburg, VA. Financial necessity. Miss the Washington, D.C. area thrifts and used record stores. Not much here except a lot of Christmas and Christian records (Jerry Falwell country). Still I grew up in tiny towns throughout Northern NY, schooled at Colgate Univ. So the mountains, quiet and saner traffic are terrific.
That's about it except to say that "I'm from the '60s".
