Liquid stains on speaker cone, should I be concerned?

I've been using some JBL JRX115 PA speakers for playing instruments (were in HT, have since been replaced) and just today noticed that at some point in their life there must have been a substantial amount of liquid spilled/sprayed on one cabinet. The previous owner was a DJ, and never gave me an indication anything happened, but as frantic as DJ gigs tend to be he might not have had any idea. There are large sticky spots inside the plastic horn, some streaks and splatters stained in the paper cone, and small spots deep inside the speaker ports.

Does this sonically make any big difference, or should I just wipe off the speakers and shrug it off?
