Pioneer SX-950 recap question

Hello I have recapped all the boards except the Power amp board. It sounds really good. But I am anxious to complete the project and do the amp board
I have couple of questions. I used the following list. Is this list correct? Anything else that should be done? My other question is that the power amp board on the list is noted as (AWH 059) and my amp board says AWH 050? is there a difference? Also I have matched Q1 & Q3...and Q2 and Q4 within 10 HFE will that be good?
Also VR1 & Vr2 multi offset on the list below say 1K ohm and in the manual say 1K but on the board there are 66Z 10K ohm B. Vr3 & Vr4 match the board and this list and the manual.
I corrected the BOM list below which worked out great for me. Except did not include the additional parts for the AWH 050 - or AWH 059 (same thing) but I did include the additional parts near the end of AWH -059 section below. Worked great for me - with no issues.

Thanks in advance for your comments

I also ordered theses parts as per TSD71's schematic below in this thread. Just follow the diagram. My thought was might as well get it all while I was in there. The times two or four is how many you will need since there are two sides. that are the same. It worked out very well.

My other question is that the power amp board on the list is noted as (AWH 059) and my amp board says AWH 050?
the service manual says AWH-050, so AWH-059 is a mistake
the service manual says 10k for vr1,2
652-3266P-1-103LF VR1,2 offset 10k 12 turn
check your pcb, what does it say on the part?

The one currently in place pcb part says 10k - so then I need to order
652-3266P-1-103LF VR1,2 offset 10k 12 turn instead of the one I have
652 -3296F correct?

Is there anything else on the amp board that should be replaced while I am at it? I have only replaced whats on the list as instructed

Pics awh 050

Here is a pic of AWH 050 Power amp board. Like I said anything else I should replace on other than whats on the list. I would also like ot buy a manual from one of the members who sells them or a sponsor. Looked on the site but cannot find one - any directional help would also be grateful

950 Manual

Here is a pic of the 950 manual so it must be a misprint - I looked at other threads on AK that have the manual and they show the same 1K at VR 1 & 2. My question is when I order the correct part - is there anything else I should replace while I am in there, other that whats on the list above under Power amp board. Thanks - Please respond (132) looks and one response?

Replace everything that I have notated on the schematic, don't nickel and dime a great receiver with potential for years of enjoyment. Both left and right sides are the same, the 850 is the same as the SX-950 on the amp board. Gain match the KSA992's on both sides. Replace the variable resistors also with:

VR1: 10K ohm multi offset: 652-3386P-1-103LF multi turn
VR2: 10K ohm multi offset: 652-3386P-1-103LF multi turn
VR3: 100 ohm single bias: 652-3386H-1-101LF 100 ohm single turn
VR4: 100 ohm single bias: 652-3386H-1-101LF 100 ohm single turn

Gain match

I will follow your schematic TY. I matched the HFE within 10 HFE for the KSA992's is that considered within specification and is HFE a good way to match? - Thanks again

match by Vbe!! to minimize dc offset for a differential pair. use your dmm set for the diode test function, to test the b/e junction

The AWH-59 Power Amplifier Assembly board is found in a SX-850 has the same stuff (minus the finals) as the AWH-050 Power Amplifier Assembly board does in the SX-950.

Thanks for all your help guys the 950 truly sounds great. During my rebuild. There were a few things that could confuse someone. Such as in my 950 manual (& on the above BOM list) its say 1k for the potentiometer at VR1 & VR3 when it should be 10k ( glad I checked). Everything else is easily found searching AK using the search feature found here. I also noticed when setting VR3 & VR4 for 20MV. When I first hooked up the leads from my VM to the amp board. I hooked up VM + red lead to to the neg (13) and VM - black to the Pos (12) well this of course gave a neg reading on the VM. I was puzzled for about 5 minutes until I went back and checked. Reversed the VM leads and it was fine. But by taking my time, reading AK Posts about the rebuild and double checking my work after a board was complete worked out well. Also asking questions no matter how I felt about it and finally getting a good solid answer. Thanks again AK members for you help
