Yamaha Amplifier Breakdown

Not literally of course. I'm just confused as to what power amps are what.

You have the "B" amps.
You have the "M" amps which come in single digit and two digit forms. The two digit amps seem to have an early and late version as well as some using an X power supply that I don't quite understand.
You have "MX" versions which don't use the Class A button but otherwise look very similar to the "M" amps and also have pretty similar specs.

I know there are more models in the pro range but as far as home audio this is all I gather from reading. Anything I'm missing?

I have an '84 vintage M60 as well as an MX460 that looks to be newer than the M60. Where do they fit into the grand scheme of things?

Nice, thanks for the link. That actually answers all of my questions.
I can get by ok reading German after years of going through not yet translated Porsche factory material.

Happy to be of use. HiFi Wiki is a pretty good all around resorce for basic specs.

Cheers,
James
