2SK68A replacement?

I would not worry to much about the "A" it most likely is just a spec for voltage tolerance much like say a TIP31 a, b or c.

From Kenwood KR-6030 manual.(Doesn't say they if they are interchangeable but pinouts are the same YMMV)

Looks like someone found it for you, but you dont need the datasheet for that.
The pin out of the devices are shown in the service manual.

That's hilarious and a bit embarrassing. I was working from that diagram in the service manual, but I'm so zoomed in on my screen that I never see right margin!

Thanks for your help, guys. Looks like the pinout is the same. At least I don't have to worry about smoking the first NTE458 I try.

here is a copy of it :

Hello Belgianbrain

Wich 2SK68A do you need ? original type does exist !

Yamaha part number IE100510 :
(2SK68A, K1,K2)..............IDSS for K1......0,5 to 1
.....................................IDSSfor K2......0,75 to 1,5
IE100520 (2SK68A/L1,L2)....IDSS for L1...1 to 2
......................................IDSS for L2...1,5 to 3
IE100530 (2SK68A/M1,M2)....IDSS for M1...2 to 4
........................................IDSS for M2...3 to 6
IE100540 (2SK68A/N1,N2)....IDSS for N1....4 to 8
.......................................IDSS for N2....6 to 12
IE100550 (2SK68A/L2,M1,M2,N1)....IDSS for L2 1,5 to 3
................................................ID SS for M1 2 to 4
................................................ID SS for M2 3 to 6
................................................ID SS for N1 4 to 8
IE100560 (2SK68A/M,N).................IDSS for M 2 to 6
.................................................I DSS for N 4 to 12

be carefull when you change a 2SK68A for another one , specifications can be very different ! :scratch2:

Service manual give spare part number :
IE100500 for the 2SK68A in T2 (TR413 & TR414) so it is a 2SK68A K,L,M,N ! So any 2SK68A between K to N will fit !

They make great shrink wrap, resistors and other bits n peices but to be honest I have had some poor results with their larger active devices. The small signal stuff like that mini fet have been ok, but the large to-220 and to-3 stuff avoid IMO.

It is simply my opinion but many share it with me.

NTE doesn't make semiconductors.They repackage them.Who knows where they get them..China maybe.:scratch2:
