Hmm. I thought that I'd seen that turntable before. Found this link to tidbits from the 2012 CES, and sure enough... there's the same turntable (a little more than half-way down the page):

That prototype did not have the dual plinth apparently, plus there were some other design changes.

I think we are past the age of true value of the Turntable, the moment companies start using terms like "high-purity copper" like it was an innovation to highlight the products, it means, its the same as the old thing, just looks prettier and costs a lot more....

While its positive that the industry is getting healthier and the vinyl has officially returned, it means that it would harder for non-expert users to find good value in these systems,

It reminds me of my local radio station that still refers to their weather updates as "computer weather". As if everyone else is still using charts and rulers.
