Criterion V receiver

Picked up this receiver yesterday at the local Salvation Army thrift for $29. It looked to be in great shape sitting on the shelf and when I hooked it up it just knocked me out at how great it sounds.

I believe it was made for Lafayette Electronics, but nothing more than than. Can anyone provide more information on what I have? I am using it in my garage for now and quite pleased with how it sounds and its ability to pull in stations.

It's in the 1979 Lafayette catalog. 44 watts RMS/ch, sold for $319.99. There were 3 models above it, and several below. This must have been right at the tail end of Lafayette's existence, since I think they bit the dust right after the '79 catalog.

EDIT: From what I've been able to research, the 1979 catalog, issued in Fall 1978, was their last. They filed for bankruptcy in 1980.
