I hope this is the correct forum for this. I have a Rogue Audio 99 Super Magnum preamp. It has some NOS Sylvanias in it but still exhibits a small amount of microphonics. It has a pretty heavy cover that is in contact with the chassis around all its edges. I was wondering if putting a thin strip of tape on the contact areas would damp some of the vibration and, if so, there would be some commonly available tape to do the job. Or would the fact that there are 10 screws anchoring the cover negate any advantage from the tape? Thanks.
