For fun: What speakers would have sold with a Kenwood Supreme 600?

I tend to think EW's Model Seven idea would have been on the money, although the Model 600 was new for the July 1976 catalogue, whereas the 700 series and the Model Sevens (scan below) were in the July 1975 catalogue. The 700 series was gone by then, but I'd bet there were many still on dealer's shelves around the world.

Flipping through an old issue of High Fidelity I saw an ad that markets the Model 600 with Model 7. Enjoy.

I am currently running two nice pairs of contemporary speakers with my 500 - IMF TLS50s and JR149s. I would also really love to try Yamaha NS1000s with the 500.

I posted this old ad earlier on another thread. Go to page 40, and the king and queen of the Kenwood Supreme series, (the 700M and 700C) were matched with JBL L300 speakers.

That sure brought me back 40 years!
I bought my 700C/M in 1975 to drive some JBL L200's after my Marantz 1120 died. I'm still playing the 700M currently with L65's but plan on bringing the old L200's back into the fold sometime in the near future, perhaps with the L65's tweeters installed in order to create a sort of L300.

Love it! After 40 years, you decide your system need an upgrade. That's the mark of quality! Sometimes I still wish I had the old 700M, but I'm always curious about what's in Door Number 2, so I keep on moving on.

I hear you about door # 2. When I see photos of what others are bringing home I sometimes get the hankering but the beauty of what I already own is that it is decent quality and plenty good enough sounding and best of all, paid for with money earned when I was 20. When I was buying audio back then I don't think I envisioned I'd still own and be using it when I was 60. Strange to think about it that way. :scratch2: :smoke: Still there is almost nothing I owned from those days that stuck around so I'm keeping it till they drag me to the home..
