Yammy RX-V592 Receiver, any good?

Hi everyone,

Someone in my GF's building threw a Yamaha RX-V592 AV Receiver out into the recycling/"Free for all" room, and I grabbed it and brought it home.

Are these good units? I did a search in this forum, but didn't come up with anything. It is surprisingly heavy- I was expecting the usual light weight BPC, but the output tranny must weigh 15 lbs!

Not sure if it works yet, I need to get some cables and a CD player for a source to test out. Anything I should be aware of before testing?

Any info you guys can give would be great.

It is a older 5.1 AVR (non HDMI) 80 wpc with two speakers driven. It was Yahama entry level AVR for DVD movies with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio-visual/av-receivers-amps/rx/rx-v592/
