I couldn't resist any longer. I found an old, still boxed, Dual 1219 priced by a store that didn't know what it was and took it home.
I sent it to Bill at fixmydual.com since it didn't work and I didn't want to explode it trying to learn how to fix it.
While I waited, I bought an alarming number of records (lots from bartertown; thanks guys!), cleaning supplies, a new cartridge and so on.
The table came back quickly and fired right up (and the custom case Bill makes is beautiful!)
So I put on a 180g mono reissue of Kind of Blue.
This is my first experience with vinyl since I was a kid and not listening.
:jawdrop:
I am screwed. You people are to blame.
