Hi, this is only my second time starting a thread on AK. You've all been a great help. I am trying to rebuild my dad's stereo system that I enjoyed listening to as a kid. I cannot find the Yamaha model receiver/amp he used that he bought while stationed in Japan but it looks almost exactly like a Pioneer SX-110 but I am certain it was a Yamaha. The sound was incredible and I'd like to re-create it for myself and my son. I'd really appreciate any help on this. Thanks!image.jpg

I think you might be searching for one of these.

Yamaha CR-700
or
Yamaha CR-500

Hi, Thank You for the quick reply! Unfortunately that wasn't my dad's model. I remember the tuner display being centered. I'm starting to have a sinking feeling that my dad's amp was indeed a Pioneer SX-110 (those are rarer than Bigfoot). Unfortunately when he was hospitalized (he eventually passed), I was stationed overseas and our home was robbed of everything to include the amp, a large older turntable, a Telefunken console and a pair of massive 36"x36"x24" speakers with
custom cabinets.
