is there printing on th control?
stiil be available, or cross referenced to new version. The volume control on my cx-2 was made by ALPS.

Check that the front panel mounting nut is securely tightened down.Does the wobbling knob effect the sound quality ?
Have to remove the knob with a 1.5 or 2mm allen wrench to gain access to the chassis mounting nut. Most likely, there are two set screws in the knob.
