KR-6030 lights flicker??

Picked up a KR-6030 and when you turn it on the lights flicker for awhile, and suggestions on what to do? Sound is slightly weird for a couple seconds, then sounds fine, and then the lights are ok.
What could cause this?

Sounds like the power switch. A ton of threads on here about those switches. My 6050 had the same issue I was able to clean mine. But I dont use it much so if it was my daily driver I would come up with another solution.

I would have to guess that it is weak/failing power supply caps... once they get powered up and stabilized, the issue would go away like described.

+1 Power switch. Serach for ALPS switch in kenwood or pioneer forum. Also used in Lafayette and Setton and a few other receivers at the time. Best work around is to repair switch, then use switch to turn on triac or relay to control power.
