Another followed me home.
I have found a nice example of a 1941 RCA Victor A-23.
Fully operational....broadcast plus 3 short wave bands.
Original glass, dial, knobs and case is in real nice nic - no chips, scratches, etc.
Lovely swirl grain! Just got it home....fine cleaning to come.

Here's a few pics -

WoW...that's a piece of art work.

That curved veneer work is beautiful and looks to be in great shape.

Lot of designing went into that piece....!!

:thmbsp:nice radio S\W too.i also have a collection of tube radios amonsgt my audio and shortwave radio collections.at least theyre all related to sound:smoke:

Thanks! I was NOT looking for this at all. Went to this chaps place to pick something else up and ended up helping him with a turntable that was his grandmothers. Got it working as it should.....he put it on Kijiji and 2 hours later he sold it.

But while there he tells me he is selling everything and moving to Belize. So his most prized tube gear was up for grabs.......and I saw this and couldn't leave it there.

NO ROOM........but I'll find a spot!!

I know that feeling no room but wait if I just move this here and that gets over there and yes I can just reach that socket...

Nice find there.

Great piece. It's nice that the grain painting is original.Just think how important that radio was to the original owners during the war years.
